MTF WINS THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT LORETTAS

Aug 8, 2017

MTF'S LORETTA'S RESULTS AND SUMMARY

The 2017 Loretta Lynn's Amateur National is in the books. MTF riders won three national championships. Congratulations to Ezra Hastings (450B Limited), Hannah Hodges (Women's amateur) and Matt LeBlanc (Mini Sr 1).

Our riders achieved overall podiums a further six times (Korie Steede, Pierce Brown, Carter Halpain, Matt LeBlanc and Nate Thrasher) and six others finished in the top 5.

Loretta's is a tough place. Privately the trainers were hoping to win more championships but mechanical issues and/or a few mistakes robbed otherwise deserving riders of their due.

Carter Halpain had the speed to be on top of the 450B class and similarly Nate Thrasher in the Mini Sr 2 class. Both riders made mistakes they will learn from. Adam Johnson also will be thinking hard about his 2nd moto in 450C.

Jarrett Frye looked very good on the track and had the speed to win a championship but a flat tire cost him in the Supermini 2 class.

Missing out on championships hurts but there were riders who broke through last week with some outstanding motos. Marcus Phelps must now realize that he can be a serious title contender with a 2nd and a 3rd in the 250B limited class. Korie Steede also impressed everyone with a moto win in the girls class where she looked completely dominant. Pierce Brown had some very good motos and he will be a force next year.

In addition Dirco Van Der Westhuizen (2 top 10's overall in College Boy and 450B Limited, Myles Gilmore (9th in 85cc 9-12 and 11th in Mini Sr 2) and Chase Prince (4th in Mini Sr 1, 7th in Mini Sr 2) all showed great heart and determination.

Last and certainly not least, congratulations to Jaxon Hadlow. You get surgery on your collar bone 6 days before Loretta's and there's no way you can compete, right? Wrong. Jaxon went 5th, 6th, 15th in 450B Limited to finish an incredible 6th overall and should be an inspiration to everyone.

Congratulations to all our riders who competed at Loretta's.

On a personal note I am leaving MTF to pursue other opportunities in Mississippi. My wife is from there and has long wanted to return to her home state so I will be relocating there and starting a new adventure.

It has been an amazing ride for me to be involved with so many fantastic people at MTF over the years. The passion, the dedication and desire for success within every rider and parent has truly been an inspiration.

I'd also like to say that you could not be in better hands than with the professional staff at MTF. Their passion and expertise in motocross is without doubt far ahead of anywhere else. If you're going to win, you'll only win with their guidance and support.

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Paul
