CARTER LUCK

When he first arrived at MTF a little over two years ago Carter Luck was a slow C rider who had trouble breaking 4 minute lap times. On top of that he broke his collarbone twice and seemed to lack the assertiveness required of top riders.

How things have changed.  Carter has displayed a single-minded determination to improve his riding skills and he is now only a tick off the fastest riders at MTF. He has also become a leader by example with his effort in the gym. He is in either first or second place in ten different strength and cardio measures, besting even some of MTF’s professional riders.
Carter credits both Colleen and Bryan Johnson for improving his skills on the track and Clint Friesen for the conditioning program, something he really enjoys, “yeah, I always look forward to coming to see Clint in the gym and learning from him”.
Colleen is especially proud of Carter’s determination and refusal to be defeated, “his results at big races have often been less than expected but where many riders would have given up Carter never has". Colleen continues, “things do not always come to us on “our” schedule or in “our” time frame but Carter is proof that if you persist, it will come. I am sure there were times he questioned if it was worth all the time and effort but when I see him now, I think those doubts have been put to rest”.
While Carter has transformed himself into a solid B rider there is still something he has not done and that is get a top result in an amateur national. With Mini-O’s fast approaching Carter hopes to make the break through this month.
Whatever his results may be, Colleen says that Carter brings an energy and positive outlook that is fun to be around, “He has not only become a good rider but has taught us all how to be good people and anyone who knows him, learns from him”.

Great job Carter and good luck at Mini-O’s
Carter would like to particularly thank his parents Kathy and Jerry also Colleen, Bryan, Clint and everyone at MTF, Lorraine and Don Barcia, Factory Connection, No Fear and Lancaster Honda.
