Monster Energy Supercross now moves to the East Coast and the Tampa round. Martin Davalos will be looking for good starts and a clean first lap, a combination that has eluded him so far. He currently sits in 15th place in the series.
Also in Tampa the 250 East riders will have their chance to shine and amongst them will be MTF trained Jordon Smith #54 above, Jordan Bailey #39 and Brady Gilmore #161.
In his five previous seasons of Supercross Jordon Smith has won at Daytona, Detroit and St. Louis and with over a dozen podiums will be one to watch for the title in 2020.
All reports are that he has overcome a few minor injuries in the offseason and feels good on his new Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki and comfortable with the team. He has been working hard on starts with trainer Bryan Johnson Jr. Competition will be stiff as the East Coast stable of riders includes the likes of Shane McElrath, Chase Sexton, Jeremy Martin and RJ Hampshire.
Jordan Bailey begins his 2nd year of Supercross aboard a TiLube/Honda and will be looking to build on his rookie season in which he scored three top 10’s and rode solidly and consistently.
Brady Gilmore is one of a strong young group of Australians racing in the US right now and he will be making his SX debut at Tampa. Brady will be on a steep learning curve but if there’s one thing about Aussies it’s that they always show up ready to race!
Supercross Futures returns to Tampa on Sunday and a large contingent of MTF riders will be racing. Amongst them will be Gage Linville who won three championships at the 1st Futures event at St. Louis. Others suiting up are:
Good luck to everyone!
